Eric Barba is an Associate in Berchem Moses PC’s Milford office where he represents boards of education in special and regular education matters. In addition, Mr. Barba counsels clients and provides presentations regarding compliance with state and federal education laws concerning special education, student discipline, discrimination, harassment, and education record privacy.

Prior to joining Berchem Moses PC, Mr. Barba was an Associate at a California education law firm where he represented public school districts in employment, business and compliance matters including: board governance, data privacy, civil rights investigations, charter school oversight, student discipline and expulsion hearings, government tort claims, public school construction, and public school/private developer relationships.

In addition to his education law practice, Mr. Barba has individual and class action civil litigation experience in the field of employment law. As a litigator, Mr. Barba managed individual discrimination, harassment and retaliation cases. He has researched, drafted and argued motions in both state and federal courts, and has experience in private arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Barba received his Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of Law, where he was a recipient of the Douglas Ring Scholarship. While in Law School, he was a coordinator at the El Centro Legal Immigration Detention Center Clinic, and was the admissions chair of the La Raza Law Students Association. He also was Associate and Managing Editor of the Chicana/o – Latina/o Law Review. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
